MANAGER OF PRODUCT ENGINEERING

Responsible for Product Development Engineering relating to all product launches. Manage customer builds from initial specifications to finish product completion. Supervises the Product Development and Design of commercial and industrial vehicles. Interact closely with sales, service, and operations functions to meet customer expectations and company goals.
Progressive management and team leadership skills to achieve high standards of excellence.
DUTIES:
X Supervise plant product development projects from conceptual design through project stages onto successful product launches.
X Responsible for meeting agreed design and cost targets while adhering to project completion timelines for new products.
X Schedule engineering projects while maintaining efficient personnel utilization.
X Maintain accurate engineering models, prints and Bill of Materials for all products.
X Manage the print control, engineering change process and ensure accurate documentation.
X Ensure process engineering support to operations as required.
X Develop long and short range plans for the engineering department skills requirements to ensure the proper talent composition needs of the Engineering staff.
X Support Company in defense of product liability claims
X Meet the goals and objectives of the Engineering department as assigned by the Subsidiary President/CEO.
X Establish and maintain cooperative, positive working relationships with all company employees.
MUSTS:
X Bachelor of Science or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
X Ten (10) years Manufacturing Engineering experience in the specialty vehicle, automotive, truck or off highway chassis manufacturing industries.
X Experience with product design, development, project and assembly operations.
X Design & Release program management skills.
X Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blue prints, assembly drawing and schematics.
X Proven management skills to motivate employees to drive project demands.
X Team building and mentoring skills.
X Experience with Lean/Kaizen and/or Six Sigma methods.
